Food systems need to be transformed to be fit for the future. People are increasingly conscious of the environmental and social impacts of their food choices. In parallel, new scientific studies are defining "sustainable diets" that can provide healthy and nutritious food to the growing world population while respecting environmental limits. Regenerative agriculture has a lead role to play in delivering this ambition, by protecting soil, water and biodiversity; respecting animal welfare; and empowering farmers.

In this role, you will be part of the Global regenerative agriculture Team, who is responsible for global Regenerative Agriculture initiatives to transform our sourcing models towards regenerative agriculture and enable continuous improvement on farm performance and sustainability. Through supporting this team you will be exposed to a wide and diverse range of agricultural sustainability topics within agronomy including animal and people welfare and the environment. Your main mission is to support the implementation of some of the Regenerative Agriculture initiatives under the supervision of the Regenerative Agriculture program Director and the Sustainability Project Manager.

So, what will be your key responsibilities?

  • Maintain database of Danone Reg Ag projects across ingredients through project owners' consultation and countries profiles (regional and local teams in Noram, Latam, EU and Africa)

  • Support the deployment of Danone Regenerative agriculture roadmaps by collecting, analysing and reporting results of assessments and on-farm projects (including CO2 footprint, Animal welfare score, feed autonomy, economics, etc.)

  • Support the team in organizing webinars and drafting communication materials to valorise these projects internally and externally (e.g. Regenerative agriculture knowledge center

About you

We are looking for a student (ideally you are nearing the end of your studies) in a field which gives you relevant skills for the role (e.g. Agriculture, Agronomics, Environmental Sciences or related). You have a team player attitude while being confident working autonomously in a complex work environment and you are not afraid to communicate with multiple stakeholders and facilitate information effectively. You are a fast learner, thriving in an environment where you can solve problems and be continuously challenged. You are proficient in Excel and Powerpoint. Furthermore, you have strong communication, synthesis and analytical skills with both attention to details and capacity to have a helicopter view

In addition, you must meet the following requirements:
  • You must be enrolled as Master/Bachelor student for the whole duration of the internship (If you are not an EU-Citizen, you must be enrolled at a Dutch university)
  • You are fluent in English – written and verbal.
  • You are willing to commute to the office in Hoofddorp, NL (Note: If you are abroad you are required to relocate to the Netherlands and get a BSN)
  • You are available to start August/September 2023 for a minimum of 6 months; 3-5 days a week (2 days in the office)

We offer a gross internship monthly allowance of 650 euros per month and a home working allowance/contribution towards travel. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad.
